Mathew Haynes has been appointed to Technical Manager of The Star Event Centre, overseeing the audio visual operation for the award-winning venue, effective immediately.

Having been a Technical Producer at The Star since 2012, Mr Haynes was instrumental in developing the technical offering for the launch of the Event Centre in 2013. Now promoted to this new role, he will lead the team of 45 audio visual professionals to produce world-class events.

Bringing a new and immersive vision to event production, Mr Haynes aims to continually push the boundaries of how AV interacts with event elements and enhances the experience for attendees.

“Leading the technical offering at the country’s best specialty venue is a real privilege and I’m excited to push the boundaries even further to ensure we give our clients a special event to remember every time.

“Working within a venue as technically superior as the Event Centre allows us to create unforgettable experiences, especially with our recently completed lighting upgrade where we added MAC Vipers, Sharpy Wash washlights, PixPads and a GrandMA2 console.

“These new technologies complement our highly-versatile LED wall, made up of 220 individual LED panels the screen can be constructed to a variety of shapes from 10m x 5.5m to 13m x 4m. My team and I are always on the lookout for new technologies and trends that we can absorb and translate into new offerings for events.”

The Star Event Centre’s technical team is gearing up for a full calendar of events leading into the end of the year including the VMware vForum 2015 conference on 21 – 22 October, the highly anticipated ARIA Awards on 26 November and the AACTA Awards on 9 December, Australia’s most prestigious film and television awards.
