In a significant advance for digital AV signal distribution, AptoVision has released new reference designs for its BlueRiver chipsets enabling point-to-point HD video signal extension of up to 250m over CAT-x network cabling.

The Montreal-based company, winner of the 2015 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Companies to Watch award, will feature the new reference designs for its BlueRiver chipsets at ISE (Stand 10-P151).

“This shatters any previous record for digital video extension over CAT-x cables and will allow installers to use them for much longer distances than previously possible,” said Stephane Tremblay, CTO & Co-founder of AptoVision. “Once again, AptoVision’s technology is redefining the limits associated with digital AV signal distribution.”

Available on new reference designs for its BlueRiver NT, BlueRiver NT+ and new BlueRiver 400 chipsets, these unprecedented distance specifications enable up to 250m/230m for HD video and up to 160m/150m for Ultra-HD/4K video on CAT-6a/CAT-5e cabling.

“This new extension capability exceeds that of existing technologies and standards by 100m for HD and 60m for Ultra-HD,” Tremblay said.  “Moreover, AptoVision is the only company in the world to deliver True 4K/60/4:4:4 video extension support at a 100 meter distance range.”

Products based on BlueRiver technology support zero-frame latency extension of video, audio, GbE, USB 2.0, RS-232 and IR signals over CAT-x or fibre optic cabling.
