AV Technology Support Engineer

This is a varied role requiring a versatile and technically strong AV/IT professional. You will be a key part of technical team driving project delivery, offering technical expertise in the pre-sales and post-sales phases.

You will support the installation team as the project nears completion, testing and troubleshooting the newly installed system, including Zoom Rooms, MS Teams Room Systems, Audio DSPs (QSC/Biamp), AVoIP Systems & video matrix. Projects are across Australia and you will assist locally and remotely depending on location to complete commissioning whilst being in touch with the team on-site. Your input will be valued as the project develops and at the commissioning stage you will take the lead, working with the project manager, site lead, installers, system designer and the end-user client to ensure the system is delivered to the client’s requirements.

As well as testing and troubleshooting, you will upload and amend control systems code, supported by a programmer (depending on your capabilities). Once a system is up and running, you will demonstrate the system and train end-users on its use. Typical projects are corporate work spaces, university learning spaces and government facilities. Technologies integrated include Biamp, Wyrestorm, Polycom, AVer, and AMX. Your expertise will be essential to the team delivering amazing spaces where the technology wows the client.

Ongoing industry training and certification is on offer to keep your skills up to date with the latest tech.

Skills Required

  • A strong understanding of integrated AV solutions is essential to succeed in this role. Experience commissioning and troubleshooting on projects involving a wide range of AV technologies in a commercial environment is required, as is a background in commercial AV, with practical site experience highly valued.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with installers, project managers, programmers and end-user clients will be key to your success.
  • Experience training end-users would be advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications in technologies like Crestron, Biamp, Polycom, Cisco, and AMX as well as AVIXA CTS/CTS-I certification will be highly regarded.
