AV Case Study: Adelaide Marriott Hotel
The Ci Group and LG displays provide the experience and refinement required for this landmark $200m hotel project.
For an integrator, like The Ci Group, which prides itself in attention to detail and exceptional client outcomes, it’s hard to admit that a particular job might be more important than others. So we weren’t necessarily going to coax that kinda admission out of Ci’s National Strategic Relationships Manager, Hospitality & Enterprise (and Adelaide native), Gayan Dias but the Adelaide Marriott Hotel project is clearly something special. If any confirmation was required, Paul Gallop, the GM of the Adelaide Marriott provides it:
“All the eyes of Adelaide have been on the $200m development. People have a super connection to this building.”
It’s been highly conspicuous build – repurposing the old heritage-listed GPO site, which locals have considerable affection for. No pressure, then!
One of the biggest considerations for The Ci Group was which display manufacturer to partner with on the project. Not only would the scope include all the 325 in-room TVs but a range of other signage displays dotted around the property for signage and wayfinding purposes.
The Ci Group selected LG: “we have just about the entire commercial catalogue on site,” according to Gayan. “Everything from 22-inch up to 86 inches.”
IN-ROOM GUEST EXPERIENCE
The bulk of the display deployment sits in the guest rooms via LG’s hospitality TV range, tightly integrated with the MCOMS IPTV head-end. Guests are greeted by a personalised Marriott-branded interface the moment they enter the room. From there they can access familiar streaming apps, hotel services, local information, and even check in or check out directly from the TV. The TVs also feature seamless Chromecast support so guests can cast content from their own devices without fuss.
“It’s become minimum expectation now,” explains Paul Gallop. “Wi-Fi and casting – if you don’t have it, guests notice immediately.”
Staff love it as much as the guests. Gayan notes the practical wins: “The LG cloning software and integration with the IPTV system means they use the same remote. It’s simple and easy for the hotel team to manage.”

CENTRALLY MANAGED SIGNAGE
Beyond the rooms, LG SuperSign software runs the extensive digital signage estate – 24/7 commercial displays that handle everything from wayfinding to event information and promotional content.
In function and meeting rooms, signage panels display room schedules, booking details and sponsor information at a glance. This not only helps guests navigate confidently but creates additional revenue opportunities for the hotel. Public-area screens reinforce branding while maintaining the refined aesthetic the GPO demands.
Gallop believes the technology succeeds precisely because it stays out of the way. “Technology is great — it has to work and it has to be simple,” he says. “The very best events are when no one remembers the AV.”
SuperSign makes updating the displays easy for the in-house marketing team. What’s more, given LG’s SuperSign CMS is approved by Marriott internationally, the interface is familiar to anyone within the broader Marriott marketing family.
The Ci Group didn’t just mount screens. Custom framing and shrouds ensure every display sits elegantly within the hotel’s high-design interiors. The technology supports the luxury environment rather than competing with it.
“They fit into the décor very well,” says Paul Gallop. “We designed them in – they were never an afterthought.”

This is a unique project and everyone has eyes on it. We wanted the right partners to deliver the best outcome.

STRONG RESULTS
Feedback from both the hotel operator and guests has been positive. The combination of refined visuals, intuitive interfaces, reliable performance and straightforward central management has delivered exactly what a prestige project like this required.
Gayan reflects on the partnership: “This is a unique project and everyone has eyes on it. We wanted the right partners to deliver the best outcome. With our past experience, we trusted LG to deliver.”
LG Australia’s General Manager Information Displays, Chris Wilson, adds: “As a global partner of Marriott, our focus is delivering memorable experiences through technology while ensuring smooth operational support. Working with Ci Group on the GPO, we’ve brought a refined digital experience to every guest touchpoint.”
PRESTIGE DELIVERED
For a landmark development watched closely by an entire city, the Adelaide Marriott Hotel demanded partners who could deliver both technical excellence and genuine refinement. The Ci Group and LG have done exactly that – creating an AV backbone that feels invisible when it should and delightful when it matters.
