About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Hybrid Workplace (AV) Engineer to join our growing Workplace Technology team, focused on the design of enterprise Audio Visual and Unified Communications solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record delivering high-end commercial integrated AV systems within enterprise environments.

This is a design-led engineering role, centred on producing high-quality system designs and technical documentation for enterprise AV and UC environments.

You will work closely with pre-sales, project management, and delivery teams, contributing technical expertise and problem-solving capability to ensure solutions are well designed, practical to deploy, and aligned with customer requirements.

The role also includes engagement with customers, stakeholders, and vendors, requiring a professional and confident client-facing approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed designs of Audio Visual solutions
  • Creation of Visio drawings including schematics, elevations, floor plans, rack layouts, etc.
  • Validation of equipment, ensuring all items are fit for purpose and aligned with project requirements, including the identification of required cables, connectors, and ancillary components
  • Preparation and documentation of project variations, as required
  • Collaboration with sales teams on efficient and effective designs for proposals
  • Ensure a strong focus on customer satisfaction and the efficient delivery of projects
  • Collaboration with project management teams
  • Collaboration with installation and delivery teams
  • Collaboration with end users and key stakeholders
  • Liaise with clients and project stakeholders
  • Maintain continued professional development through regular vendor training
  • Build strong customer relationships, with the ability to communicate technical concepts at all levels
  • Present a strong portfolio of relevant project experience, including exposure to testing, commissioning, and support activities
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Be willing to travel for project requirements, including occasional interstate travel

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in AV systems design within commercial environments
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), with CTS-I / CTS-D highly regarded
  • Proven experience designing commercial AV and UC solutions in enterprise environments
  • Strong experience with:
    • Microsoft Teams Rooms
    • Video conferencing platforms (Teams, Webex, Zoom, Google, Pexip)
    • DSP, control systems, and integrated AV solutions
  • Experience with technologies such as:
    • Q-SYS, Biamp, Crestron, Extron (DSP, control, core AV platforms)
    • Shure, Sennheiser (microphone and audio systems)
    • Yealink, Logitech, Cisco, Neat, HP/Poly  (Teams Rooms / UC platforms)
  • Understanding of converged communications and collaboration technologies
  • Solid understanding of IP networking and network equipment and structured cabling
  • Strong understanding of construction environments and physical installation constraints, including mounting, cable routing, coordination with other trades, and the ability to interpret and coordinate construction drawings and engineering details
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and D-Tools
  • Working knowledge of analogue and digital electronics (formal qualifications preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Passion for delivering high levels of customer service
