THE ROLE

The Business Development Executive at Midwich is responsible for driving the growth of the company’s market presence and revenue generation through proactive engagement with new and current customers.

The primary objective is to increase both value and frequency of spend within select channel partner segments, ultimately increasing monthly trading accounts and profitability.

The role focuses on establishing and nurturing initial relationships that can be handed off to the account management team when at specific account development metrics have been achieved.

This role is based in Chatswood, Sydney.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Onboarding New Accounts:

  • Lead the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition from the sales team to active engagement.
  • Understand the needs and goals of new accounts, ensuring that Midwich’s solutions align with their business requirements.
  • Coordinate internal teams (sales, operations, and support) to provide seamless integration and support during the onboarding process.
  • Provide clients with necessary product training, resources, and support to help them get the most out of Midwich’s offerings.

Proactively Engaging Non-Trading Accounts:

  • Identify and reach out to non-trading or dormant accounts with the objective of re-engaging them and driving spending activity.
  • Develop tailored outreach strategies and campaigns to rekindle relationships with these accounts, utilising phone calls, emails, and other communication methods.
  • Analyse historical account data to understand past buying patterns and create personalized offers or promotions to encourage activity.
  • Monitor non-trading accounts’ activity and assess key factors that may be impacting their engagement or spending.

Building and Nurturing Relationships:

  • Cultivate long-term relationships with both new and dormant clients by providing value-driven communication, offering solutions, and ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients during their onboarding phase and initial post-sale stages, ensuring client satisfaction and successful engagement.
  • Regularly check in with non-trading accounts to address concerns, offer new solutions, and identify opportunities for reactivation.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Actively work towards achieving sales targets and KPIs related to new account acquisition and re-engagement of non-trading accounts.
  • Assist in promoting new products or services to dormant clients, ensuring that they are aware of the latest offerings and how they can benefit their business.
  • Drive growth in both newly onboarded and previously dormant accounts by strategically encouraging new purchases or ongoing business relationships.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Track and document all communications and activities with new and non-trading accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
  • Report on account status, sales progress, and potential issues to senior management, ensuring full visibility of efforts and outcomes.
  • Provide feedback on account trends, challenges, and successes to the sales and marketing teams for continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure that all internal stakeholders are aligned and working effectively toward engaging new and dormant accounts.
  • Provide insights to the marketing team regarding potential campaigns and content to re-engage dormant accounts and onboard new ones more effectively.

Market Insight and Strategy Development:

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, client needs, and competitor activity to identify new opportunities for account reactivation and new account acquisition.
  • Work with the management team to help develop strategies that will increase account retention, activity, and overall engagement with Midwich’s services.

Customer Feedback and Improvement:

  • Collect and analyse customer feedback to help improve the onboarding process, as well as strategies for re-engaging dormant clients.
  • Recommend improvements in client interaction strategies based on feedback and adjust approaches to maximize client satisfaction and retention.
