We are seeking a skilled AV Network & Systems Specialist who ensures the delivery of networking, communications, and systems-related services to meet event specifications and quality standards. This role provides AV network support to technicians, delivery managers, and coordinators in the operation of networking and systems equipment, speaker prep systems, and supports the sales and planning teams in offering internet and network services to our clients. Additionally, the position oversees AV network infrastructure, ensuring compliance with ICT policies, procedures, and VPDSS/F standards, while collaborating with key stakeholders to align AV department with organisational objectives.

About the Role

  • Technical oversight and management of the AV/IT network to ensure successful planning and delivery of events on a rolling basis.
  • Align with ICT Policies and Procedures for the implementation best practice policies for AV/IT network. Where required, work collaboratively with the ICT Team to ensure Policies and Procedures do not impact unnecessarily on customer service
  • Undertake programs of work in conjunction with ICT Team to uplift and improve VCET network and application environment – especially with regards to automation, cybersecurity and continuous improvement
  • Ensure expenditure on communication team is managed within the allocated budget targets for labour margins
  • Manage pricing changes for staff-based AV service in conjunction with Planning, Sales and Specialists
  • Work with key stakeholders & external contractors to build strong relationships and communication for the successful planning and delivery of events
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
  • Provide support and guidance, prioritising collaboration over a command-and-control approach.
  • Elevate team performance by promoting accountability and empowering direct reports.

About you

Essential

  • Construction card
  • CCNA Switching & Routing or equivalent (must have or be working to achieve)
  • Extensive experience in the events industry, with a focus on the technical elements of event production – networking, telecommunications and conference delivery – particularly for the corporate market
  • Experience with large scale Wi-Fi environments
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams with specialised skills sets

Desirable

  • Open & Registered Cable License
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager
  • EWP license
  • Relevant trade and/or tertiary qualifications
  • Familiar with application of VPDSS/F standards & guidelines for AV/IT systems
  • Experience with EBMS (Momentus)
  • Experience with SOE build/deploy/manage using MS SCCM
